No production loss for leading manufacturer.
In August last year Bosworth made the proactive move to install a generator and solar backup power to address the challenge of loadshedding. Since then, the company has not lost a single day of production.
The Bosworth Alrode manufacturing operation in Gauteng, South Africa boasts a solar energy system consisting of a 950 kVA diesel genset and 400 kWp solar panels from sister company Hudaco Energy
The office block runs on 13 kWp solar panels with a 10 kVA hybrid inverter and battery storage system.
This system has produced 142 MWh and saved over 141 650 kg of CO2, equivalent to saving 7 734 trees. It has reduced electricity drawn from the national power grid by almost 60% since August.
